< Prev   Next > Municipality of Rotterdam orders two InfraCore® bridges The two InfraCore® park bridges will be placed in IJsselmonde en Hoogvliet. Meanwhile, both briges are in use. The municipality of Rotterdam has chosen for InfraCore® composite bridges because of sustainability reasons, no maintenance costs, a longer life cycle and a higher value at the end of this cycle. In addition: graffiti is easy to remove and the bridges are so light that they scarcely need a foundation. InfraCore®  bridges have a far better carbon foot print than comparable bridges of steel and concrete and they thereby fit well in the ambitious carbon related goals of Rotterdam. On this moment a LCA is been carried out  on InfraCore® bridges in comparison steel and concrete ones. This LCA is financed by  SenterNovem, DSM Resins and FiberCore Europe. The report on the LCA will be published in May and the first results are more than promising. The Rotterdam bridges are the first bridges to be accommodated with the logo InfraCore® Inside. The InfraCore® Inside logo on the bridge is a guarantee for quality, sustainability and reliability. The three bridges are part of a larger project of 17 bridges being replaced. The other bridges are made of steel with a fiber reinforced plank of Fiberline.
