FiberCore succesful at InfraTech 2009

At the InfraTech 2009 fair, FiberCore presented the first of a series of InfraCore® bridges designed for Rotterdam. The bridge drew a lot of attention from government officials and contractors.

With about ten bridges already in use, composite bridges in The Netherlands are becoming a more common good. Most of the visitors at the fair, though, had never seen a composite bridge in their lives. Low prices, zero-maintenance and sustainability reasons caused lots of visitors to ask FiberCore for further acquaintance.

Apart from the Rotterdam bridge, FiberCore also presented two zero-maintenance composite FiberNose® profiles. The edges are meant for the Juliana bridge in Zaandam. The edge profiles are designed by Joris Smits of Royal Haskoning and manufactured by Smit Kunststoffen. Many visitors never imagined composite bridges to be so slender and beautiful.

At the InfraTech 2009 fair, FiberCore also introduced zero-maintenance railings. The FiberSmile® railings can be produced in any RAL colour, but especially the copper ones drew a lot of attention. Only after a lot of touching, knocking and smelling, visitors could indeed believe that the railing was made out of composite material. Since the introduction of FiberSmile® railings, even the most maintenance-sensitive part of bridges can be made out of reinforced composite.
