DSM Resins and FiberCore Europe recently initiated a Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) of the InfraCore bridge

in order to determine its environmental effects and its lifecycle achievements in comparison with concrete and steel bridges. The analysis is performed by the international BECO standards and by use of SimaPro, world’s most used LCA software. The results of the LCA will provide an amount of energy used (in MJ) and a carbon footprint (carbon dioxide). The analysis will be certified by the use of a peer view. SenterNovem supports the LCA with a financial grant.

The results of the InfraCore® 60-ton-traffic bridge LCA will be presented at the international FRP Unlimited conference in Germany on march 5th 2009.
